Marvin Pearson -- An Unsung Hero of SC Wrestling

This person, in his first and only year as a SC high school wrestler, 1971-1972, at Dreher High School. (It was his sophmore year academically.) Won the State Championship at 95lbs. What's so interesting about that you may ask. Well that year he went unbeaten, defeated the defending State Champion, Gary Parler of AC FLORA and sent him up a weight class where he won another State Championship, he was untied that year and this is the really interesting part, was unscored upon that year. I know of no other wrestler in SC ever to acomplish that feat. This is based upon my memory since I was his team mate that season.
